ATTENDEES
Shirley Saulsgiver, Bud
Saulsgiver,
Bill Dietrich,
Nan Osbon, Brien Mill.
Annette Smith arrived at 6:20
pm.
Chad Bogart arrived at 7:20
pm.
Meeting called to order by
Bill Dietrich, Vice
President, at 6:00 pm.
MINUTES:
There was a motion to approve
last month's minutes by Bud Saulsgiver, and seconded by
Shirley Saulsgiver, and so passed by the Board.
TREASURERS REPORT:
The Treasurer's report was
passed around by
Chad.
There was a motion by Bill Dietrich, and seconded by Nan
Osbon, to accept the Treasurer's report. It was so passed by
the Board. The balance of the checkbook, as of 5/15/10, is
$3,144.45. The Money Market is $7,188.57.
Chad
also reported that the CT-12 for Oregon Dept of Justice and
the 990EZ have been filed. There was an article in the
newspaper that discussed a new form that non-profits were
going to have to file.
Chad
was given the article and will look into it.
BILLS:
There were no bills presented to be
paid.
OLD BUSINESS:
The shirts should be on their
way. Bill had a sample of the hats. The Board agreed that
the white stitching on the blue hat was the way to go. Bill
said he will get back with the company, and we should have
them by Friday.
Rhody Days:
Brien will be pulling the float. We will put the banner on
the front of his truck. All those who are riding on the
float will get their own costumes. Shirley and Bill will
get Rhodys. Annette will try to get some as well. We will
meet at 8:00 am. Annette will find out our number and where,
and she will email everyone.
Scholarships:
Bill and Shirley will be there Tuesday evening, the 25th,
to present the scholarships and get pictures. Annette
reminded them to please get the names for our records.
NEW BUSINESS:
No new business was brought up.
ICE
MACHINE:
The contracts with Mike
Slover and Brien Mill have been signed. Brien needs
blueprints so he can see what is needed for the stairs. He
will get what Bud has. There will probably be a need for an
Engineer to sign off on the stair blueprints. Brien and Bud
will take care of that. Brien has some donated steel that
he can get started on, as long as it fits into what Mike
needs.
The bid that Mike Slover put
in for his part is $2,800 over the grant funding. This had
been discussed by phone with Board members. There was a
motion by Bud Saulsgiver, and seconded by Brien Mill, to
take those funds out of the Money Market, if necessary, and
it was so passed by the Board.
There was discussion about
donating the Ice Machine to the Port so they will run it.
There is general agreement with this, and the Port has
expressed interest in doing this. The concerns brought up
about this, though, are operation and maintenance of the Ice
Machine. Brien volunteered to be part of this. There is
concern about managing the price of the ice to keep it
reasonable and competitive with other Ports. There is also
concern over liability.
Will the SFA be liable for
anything once it is turned over to the Port? Should the SFA
get some kind of percentage of the income to continue on
with any other projects we decide to take on? Finally,
to be sure that the Port assumes responsibility for the loan
the SFA now has, in regards to the machine.
The meeting was adjourned at
7:49 pm by Bill Dietrich
