The Siuslaw Fisherman’s Association has opened it doors to all interested parties. If you are a commercial fisherman who wants help with port concerns, if you are a sports fisherman who enjoys salmon fishing in the fall or if you are a member of the community who values having a fishing fleet, then the SFA is the place to be.

Do you have issues that you would like to have presented to the Port of Siuslaw?

Would you like to have a larger voice in what goes on in your port?

The SFA is looking for commercial fishing members and sports fishing members to help build a strong organization that will represent the needs and concerns of both commercial and sports fishermen alike.

If you are not a fisherman, but are the wife of a fisherman or would just like to support our cause or help with fundraising activities, the SFA has a “wives and friends” membership.

Statement of Purpose:

 The SFA will be your representative with the state of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW).

The SFA will be your representative to all agencies that may have direct or indirect affect on the fishing industry and environment.

The SFA will revitalize the Port of Siuslaw and bring economic development to the port area.

The SFA will be the provider of ice to the fishing industry of the Port of Siuslaw.

Here is what we can do for you:   

·        The SFA will bring together the voices of all of the fishermen in the area to bring more clout to the table and to ensure that their opinions are heard.

·        The SFA will monitor the actions of the Port of Siuslaw to make certain those actions will not adversely affect fishermen or the public.

·        The SFA will start addressing issues such as support for the local STEP Program. 

·        The SFA provides a Web site to help commercial fishermen market their catch and to provide local information to sports fishermen.

·        The SFA’s immediate goal is to obtain a working ice facility for use by commercial fishermen, sport fishermen and the public.

Memberships and Rates

Commercial Fisherman Membership fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) per year, the applicant shall become a full voting member of the SFA.  (Commercial Fisherman is any person who owns a commercial fishing license.)

Sports Fisherman Membership fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) per year, the applicant shall become a member in the SFA with a full vote.

Wives and friends of the SFA Membership fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) per year, the applicant becomes a member with a full vote.
